The power of a 3 way conversation in an emergency

A unique and powerful feature of Assure Connect™ is the ability for the support group member (the person answering the call for help) to call Triple Zero during the conversation. This is achieved by simply pressing the zero key once during the call. When zero is pressed Assure Connect™ dials Triple Zero Without putting anybody on hold.
Not placing the caller on hold is very important if they are confused or distressed. The guardian can then explain to the emergency services operator the situation and guide emergency services to provide assistance. The emergency services operator can talk to both the guardian and the caller. The Triple Zero feature provides the following valuable advantages…
People can be reluctant to call Triple Zero:
In a concerning situation many people will call a friend or family member
rather than Triple Zero. Assure Connect™ allows the guardian to advise the
caller and make the decision to bring Triple Zero into the conversation.
Escalate to an emergency:
The call may begin as a person calling because they are
becoming concerned. During the call the situation may worsen. The guardian
can then make the decision to call Triple Zero.
Interpret:
There are many non-English speaking people who live in
the community. A friend or family member can speak for them during an
emergency and act as an interpreter.
Provide a
medical history:
The caller may be confused or upset and not able to provide important medical facts.
Provide location details:
It’s not always easy for emergency services to locate people in trouble; a
friend or family member can assist by knowing the special details of their
location and how to best gain access to their home or remote location.
Help to locate them:
Over 60% of emergency calls are made from mobile phones.
Despite what we see in the movies, in Australia locating people on mobile
phones to any accuracy is not easy for emergency services. A friend or
family member is far more likely to be able to locate a person by having
knowledge of their habits and who to contact to try to determine their
location.
Assist if they are passing out:
During an Assure Connect™ call, the caller may start to experience more
severe medical symptoms; the friend or family member will be able to carry
on the conversation with the emergency services operator.
Caller ID:
The Assure Connect™ system passes the calling ID of the
original caller to emergency services via the telephone network, so that
their location and identity is not obscured by the Assure connect™ system.
